Privacy Policy

Google Analytics measures aggregate traffic. No personal accounts, no newsletter, no tracking cookies of our own. Some image-CDN links are affiliate — that funds the site, and the recommendations stay honest.

What this site collects directly

Nothing on its own. theimagecdn.com is a set of static pages — there are no user accounts, no contact forms, no comments, and no newsletter sign-up. The site never asks for your name, email, or any other detail directly.

Google Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to measure aggregate traffic so I know which guides are useful and where to focus. GA4 loads from googletagmanager.com and sends anonymised events to Google's servers. The measurement ID for this site is G-X2ZNEZHRW1.

What GA4 records about your visit includes:

  • the URL of the page you opened and the page you came from
  • your IP address (Google truncates and anonymises this; it is not stored against your identity)
  • approximate location derived from IP (typically country or region — not your exact address)
  • device type, browser, operating system, and screen size
  • basic interaction events (clicks, scrolls, time on page)
  • a randomly-generated client ID stored in your browser, used to deduplicate visits

All of this is reported back to me as aggregate numbers — "how many people visited which page", not "who that person is". I do not run any user-id, demographic, or remarketing features in GA. Google's own use of the data is governed by their privacy policy.

How to opt out: install the official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, block third-party scripts via a content blocker (uBlock Origin, Brave Shields, Safari's tracker blocker), enable "Do Not Track" in your browser, or use a privacy-focused browser like Firefox with Enhanced Tracking Protection or DuckDuckGo. The site works fully with GA blocked.

Cookies and local storage

Two small things are stored in your browser:

  • Theme choice (light or dark) — kept in localStorage on your device, never sent to any server.
  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) — set by GA4 to assign you a random client ID and deduplicate visits. Expire after up to 2 years. You can clear them anytime from your browser settings.

The site does not set advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, or any other tracking cookies of its own.

Affiliate links and CDN promotion

This site recommends specific image CDNs — BunnyCDN as the default value pick, with ImageKit, Cloudflare Images and Cloudinary covered in comparison. From time to time it also mentions adjacent products (image-optimisation plugins, hosting, tools).

Some links to those products are affiliate links — most notably the BunnyCDN sign-up link with code THEWPX. If you click one and end up subscribing, this site may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That is how theimagecdn.com is funded.

Affiliate commissions never change what gets recommended here. If BunnyCDN is the wrong tool for your project, the article tells you that. If the free tier of ImageKit or Cloudflare is enough, the article tells you to stop there. The guides carry the value, not the links.

Pricing and product information

CDN pricing, free-tier limits, transformation costs, edge- location counts, and feature support all change over time — sometimes quarterly. Anything written on this site reflects what was accurate when the page was last verified (each article shows its Updateddate). Always check the vendor's own pricing page before signing up.

External links

Pages on this site link out to third-party websites — vendor pricing pages, web standards documentation, HTTP Archive statistics, etc. Those sites have their own privacy practices and may set their own cookies. This site has no control over and takes no responsibility for the privacy practices of any external website.

Independence and trademarks

theimagecdn.com is not owned by, operated by, sponsored by, or endorsed by BunnyCDN, Cloudflare, ImageKit, Cloudinary, Sirv, Imgix, Gumlet, Uploadcare, Gcore, Fastly, KeyCDN, AWS, or any other CDN provider. Provider names referenced on this site are the trademarks of their respective owners, used here for independent commentary, tutorials, comparisons and reviews.

Browser-based tools

The image and PDF tools at /tools (PNG↔WebP converters, JPEG converter, HEIC→JPG, JPG→PDF, bulk image compressor, PDF compressor) run entirely in your browser. Files are processed locally on your device. Nothing is uploaded to any server. When you close the tab, the files are gone.

Not legal, financial, or business advice

The content on this site is for informational purposes only. It describes what works in real production image-CDN setups. It is not legal, financial, or business advice, and it does not replace professional help for your specific situation.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. Google Analytics collects basic device and country data from any browser, but no personal information is requested from anyone on this site directly.

International visitors

The site is read from around the world. The most personal data point ever collected is your truncated IP via Google Analytics, which Google holds under its own policies. If you are visiting from the EU, UK, or California and want to exercise rights against Google's processing of that data, the relevant request should be made to Google directly — see their privacy policy. The site owner has no separate database of identifiable visitor data to hand over, delete, or correct.

Your data and contact

For any privacy-related question — including a request to confirm that GA is the only third-party data flow on this site — write to hello@theimagecdn.com. See also the about page.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — adding analytics, adding a contact form, or anything else that affects what is collected — the date below is updated and the change is briefly noted at the top of this page.
